DCN CEO Seth Arndorfer presented Futures Task Force findings, provided solutions for rural telcos to compete in the ever-changing tech world.
BISMARCK, N.D., MARCH 14, 2018 – Dakota Carrier Network’s CEO Seth Arndorfer presented his perspective and insight on the opportunities rural telecommunications companies have to keep pace – and in some cases, out-pace – competitor service providers on March 13 at the NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association’s Executive Forum in Monterey, Calif. He was one of three executives to present on behalf of the NTCA’s Futures Task Force.
The NTCA represents 850 independent, community-based telcos, providing advocacy support, publications and events, and employee training, development, and benefit programs. It created the Futures Task Force in 2016, a group of 20 NTCA member executives who collaborate to find solutions to common technological, financial, regulatory, and operational challenges telcos face. Arndorfer is one of 20 executives selected to serve on this task force.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to participate in this group of visionary industry leaders over the past two years,” said DCN CEO, Seth Arndorfer. “I’m confident our industry is well-positioned for growth, and we are excited about the opportunities that the growing reliance on broadband service will create for all of us in the years to come.”
The NTCA will compile the task force’s findings in a guide that will be distributed to its membership nationwide.
“Taking the time to chart a course forward in the rural telecommunications industry is critical to a telco’s success,” said NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association CEO Shirley Bloomfield. “We are so pleased Seth has contributed his time, talents and visionary perspective to our Futures Task Force, a group of 20 NTCA member leaders who I am continually impressed by. They represent a broad cross-section of our association membership in terms of geography, lines or business, and firm size. Individually, they are each hard at work identifying a path forward amid competitive pressures, technological changes, and evolving consumer preferences. And while there is no such thing as typical telco in today’s environment, this group of leaders has accepted the challenge head-on to develop a resource to aid telcos in strategic planning and progressive business thinking.”
