Congratulations to DCN Transport Technician Erik Brousseau who recently earned his Optical Communications Professional (OC-P) certification.

The certification demonstrates Erik’s knowledge on communication components, devices and protocols of optical transport networks.

DCN and our 15 owner companies use optical transport to carry our customers’ data over our statewide fiber network. This means our customers’ data hops onto a light signal within our fiber and is dropped off at its intended destination at the speed of light – which is why they can stream movies, TV shows, video games, etc. without the dreaded pinwheel spinning on the screen.

Erik is the third DCN employee to receive this certification, joining Network Operations Center (NOC) manager Gregg Retzer and transport technician Dan Tenderholt.
