BISMARCK, N.D., APRIL 15, 2019 – Ten DCN (Dakota Carrier Network) employees recently received MEF-CECP Certifications following a week of intense training and successful exam completion.
MEF-CECP stands for Metro Ethernet Forum-Carrier Ethernet Certified Professional. The three-year certification is recognized industry-wide as the highest standard for carrier ethernet professionals, demonstrating their extensive knowledge of the technology.
“We prioritize employee education and training because it’s an investment that further instills confidence and pride in our employees, which benefits them and our customers alike,” DCN CEO Seth Arndorfer said. “By earning their MEF-CECP certifications, these employees have asserted themselves as subject-matter experts, which we love having on the DCN team.”
The employees who received their MEF-CECP certifications include:
- Mark Aslakson, wholesale sales manager
- Tara Berger, application administrator
- Sheldon Dacar, NOC ethernet/IP technician I
- Todd Domres, director of sales
- Steve Frank, NOC ethernet/IP technician II
- Jennifer Guthmiller, commercial sales manager
- Jesse Heck, director of operations
- Tim Paulson, NOC ethernet/IP engineer
- Jody Sommer, NOC ethernet/IP technician II
- Aparna Thiel, sales engineer
DCN requires all ethernet network engineers and technicians have MEF-CECP certifications.
Arndorfer added that for a relatively small company, it was impressive for DCN to have 14 attendees across various departments represented at the training.
“I’ve gone through the MEF-CECP training and received the certification myself, and I really admire the employees who attended the training and gained valuable industry information,” Arndorfer said.
